One down ...

I feel relieved after finally hitting the Submit button on my Columbia app. Its a mixed bag of emotions - relief, anxiety, mental tiredness and hope. I have barely slept the last 2 nights so I am going to catch up on my sleep today and tomorrow. Overall, I feel good about my application although I realize most other applicants have stellar backgrounds as well. I will try not to worry about too much and not check my email every 2 minutes. I have stayed away from BW Forums for 3 weeks now, which is a huge accomplishment (my app would not have been done otherwise).

I am dead solid on attending Columbia Business School if accepted but in this day of competition one can never be sure. I will take a break this week and probably start on a safety school app next week. As I reflect back on the last 6 weeks (time it took to prepare my Columbia app), they were full of late nights, multiple drafts of essays, conversations with friends, recommenders and reviewers, introspection on my career and personal goals and a lot of hard work trying to balance work, personal life and MBA apps.

Irrespective of whether I get an offer or not, I believe I have put my best possible foot forward. This would not have been possible without the untiring and dedicated support from my wife, who always encouraged me to go for it and did everything possible to help me put a decent app.

I owe it big time to her!!!
